20th Year of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence - from November 25, International Day Against Gender Violence to December 10, International Human Rights Day - is on its 20th year.
The chosen dates mark that violence against women in different ways in times of peace, war and conflict is a violation of women's rights, and women's rights is human rights.
The theme for 2010's observance of the 16 Days of Activism is "Structures of Violence: Defining the Intersections of Militarism and Violence Against Women".
